Brief Description of Event:
A Lecture was organised by Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology in
collaboration with Dentsply on the topic “Healing with Light” at BBDCODS on 25th
July’ 24.
The programme commenced with welcoming of the guest speaker Dr. Yash Raj Bahadur, Product Specialist for Dentsply (North India), Dr. Puneet Ahuja Principal BBDCODS, HOD’s, Faculty members and all the registered delegates by HOD OMR, Dr. Deepak U. The programme began with an introduction of the speaker of the day by Dr. Priya Singh, Reader in the department. The speaker was felicitated by Dr. Puneet Ahuja where he emphasized the usage of lasers in the modern dentistry.
The lecture by Dr. Yash Bahadur outlined on the history, principles, applications, advantages and precautions to be kept in mind before Laser activation. He elaborated on the applications of Laser in oral and para oral pathologies which included oral ulcers, read & white lesions, gingival pathologies, TMJ disorders and others. The lecture was attended by registered faculty members, postgraduates of various specialties and interns of the college.
The Lecture was followed by live demonstration of use of Soft Tissue Laser on patients suffering from Recurrent aphthous stomatitis, Leukoplakia, Oral Submucous Fibrosis & TMDs to name a few where various modes of laser and its practical implications on the patients was elaborated.
The lecture ended with the speaker addressing on the queries of the audience and a thank you note by Dr. Puja Rai, Sr. Lecturer in the department.
